Hosting the legendary Sam Lessin was an absolute delight and a masterclass in contrarian thinking. Sam's career achievements would make anyone assume he's nearing retirement, but trust me, he's still got plenty of tricks up his sleeve. To put it succinctly, Sam is the embodiment of innovative entropy.
Sam's professional journey is like a rollercoaster of innovation. He earned his stripes as one of the early VPs of Product at Facebook (was part of the leadership team), playing a pivotal role in shaping the social media behemoth that billions of us can't live without today. He also co-founded two successful companies drop.io (which Facebook acquire-hired through) and Fin. Now, he’s a GP at Slow Ventures – one of the best seed investors and is shaking up what it means to be an investor in more ways than one. He's also the eternal intern at The Information, a publication near and dear to his heart, started and expertly run by his wife, Jessica. In my humble opinion, it's the best tech publication at this point.
During his visit, Sam generously shared nuggets of wisdom and insights, offering candid perspectives that left us with a treasure trove of knowledge (that we won’t go into). Sam Lessin is, without a doubt, a true trailblazer in the tech world, and we're lucky to have had him indulge in some fine dining (Chipotle) with us :)
